-ULCT Liaison.  Many hours spent on the Hill during session, as well as interim meetings, on legislation affecting cities

-Audited the city website page by page.  At that time, there were many things needing attention:  broken links, out-of-date information, etc.  I handed many pages of notes over to city staff, who proceeded to do an amazing job with it.  The site today is far more helpful, easy to navigate, and informative for almost any question.

-Worked with the former City Manager to: first, get our city budgets posted on the website, albeit in spreadsheet form; and second, create a more reader-friendly budget document (known as a CAFR, or Comprehensive Annual Financial Report), which lets you, the taxpayer, see and understand easily where your tax money is being spent.  While our budget spreadsheets are still kept current online, I'd like to see us also produce a CAFR each year, for even better transparency and understanding of city revenues and expenses.

-Helped craft a more balanced fireworks ordinance, blocking out the most vulnerable areas of the city (where heaviest vegetation and tall trees live), while preserving freedom to light them in safer areas.  **Please always keep in mind when extra dry conditions are present, and exercise good judgment and caution, even in areas where fireworks are allowed -- and always keep water close at hand**

-Youth City Council liason, 3 years.

-Founder's Day liaison, 2 years.

-Kaysville Civics liaison, 3 years.  Helped with the Patriotic Devotional, parade, and breakfast.

-Worked on a Davis County Air Parade during the 2020 Covid year, when all other celebrations were canceled.  We had a great flyover show organized, with many types of planes.  The County ultimately scuttled the show over insurance concerns and expense.

  • 2022-current,  Youth Council Advisor

-My husband, Jon, and I have enjoyed this service so much!  The Council has doubled in size during the time I have been working with them.

We provide opportunity for high-school aged youth to be a part of a council, practice leadership in executing activities and running meetings, give service in the community, and have a great time together while making a positive contribution.  These are tomorrow's leaders -- we love these youth!

If you would like your son or daughter to participate, applications open during March and April for the following school year's council group.  All are welcome.
